Google maps satellite slow2/3/2024 ![]() You can install to achieve this more conveniently. The performance is significantly better, along with some broken parts of google maps now work. To demonstrate how Google are perverting the performance of google maps in Firefox In Firefox v43.0.4, change the user agent string to "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3 Trident/7.0 rv:11.0) like Gecko" then browse / use google maps. ![]() > asap, google will engineer Mozilla out of existence. > very badly in Mozilla's java-script engine. > Google have been very clever in ensuring they use functions that perform > Google want Firefox dead, and this is just another weapon to push people off > functions where Firefox performs very poorly but where chrome performs well. > The performance is due to very carefully selected and somewhat clever use of (In reply to John Burges from comment #8) I realise it might be not a simple matter to sort out, it probably will require some major change in the coding but if you want to stay in the market it has to be done. įirefox excell in customization it is brilliant BUT PERFORMANCE is as the numbers show the most important factor so please FORWARD THIS "bug" to the right people. ![]() I do care about Firefox and if you don't want to loose comunity as at the moment the numbers are falling in favor to Chrome, have a look yourself (all other browsers are loosing too but it is not the point) you have lost nearly 5% in last year. HP ZR30W 2560x1600 resolution (on other machines resolution was much lower and it made no difference it was still super slow, besides Chrome and IE are fine in this resolution) My computer specs are very and this problem were replicated on 5 different computers with different systems Windows XP 32bit, Win 7 32 and 64 bit. I have posted many times on many forums about this problem and it seems that nobody who deals with Firefox problems cares enough about it. I admit it is a tiny bit slower in chrome but in Firefox it just don't work at all. AND if you switch to new version of maps which they are testing at the moment it totally is unusable in FF. So if you need confirmation of this bug just install yourself newest versions of Chrome, IE and Firefox and then go straight to .uk.Ĭomparing Chrome and Firefox is like night and day. It is very well known fact around the net. My wife has the car right now, so I'll update later with my findings.I can't stress enough how poor firefox's performance in regard to google maps is in comparison to Chrome and IE. The lag, not so much.Īpparently there was a Google Maps update yesterday, so I'll have to test it in full screen again to see if the update fixed the issue. I'm glad the lagging is gone now, but I'm hoping Google makes some updates to address this issue, because having Carplay in full screen is awesome. I have a feeling that Google Maps and Waze are currently not working well with displaying the maps in widescreen. My car, and many other recent Hyundais and Kias, have the ability to display Carplay across the full length of the screen, but turning on the split screen setting, where Carplay just takes the left two-thirds of the screen, fixed all the lagging issues. I was dealing with severe lag using Google Maps or Waze (Apple Maps worked fine), and what worked for me was to activate the split screen mode in my car's settings. I have a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq EV with a widescreen infotainment system. I think the most up to date version at the time of this post is version 6.45. The current version I have installed is 6.26.0. Not sure which version update broke it for either. So I’m not updating my Google maps or Waze app until Google fixes this. Before updating I decided to go for a quick drive and use my CarPlay. I noticed I had many apps that needed to be updated including Waze and Google maps. I found an earlier iTunes backup I had done on my iPhone and restored that backup. Then I remembered my wife don’t keep her apps updated nearly as much as I do. So, how did I confirm? I tried restoring my iPhone and factory resetting my car radio but same issue. ![]() My wife’s has an iPhone 14 pro max as well and hers work fine in my car. I have a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe and an iPhone 14 pro max. However through testing I believe I have confirmed this to be an actual issue with a recent Google maps update. I’ve been commenting on this issue and posting across several threads. ![]()
